Freeleaf Ltd : Product Branding Session
Freeleaf Ltd. is a social enterprise operating with the simple goal of providing a sustainable future to at-risk and previously exploited and abused women in Asia through holistic care and economic empowerment. Their products are inspired by the ancient tradition of knotting as an art form and the symbolism of our messy lives being shaped into something extraordinary. I’ve been working with them since 2016, in their Asia office and state-side office and love their dedication to honoring the dignity in every person they work with. Here is a collection of images I’ve taken over the years with them as well as their logo and website that we have worked on over the years.
Outdated and bulky logo using Bromello font was updated to incorporate an organic hand drawn name and keep the leaf element in a more fluid layout.
Freeleaf wanted to create a series of images showing their office and the incredible survivors that create and design the products.
Freeleaf wanted to increase engagement on social media - we decided to create hand drawn quote images to inform and engage viewers with information relevant to the issues women face. I hand drew quotes digitally or directly on paper and photographed the quotes (either with a blank page or the hand drawn quote) in various environments.
Freeleaf wanted colorful, feminine photographs of their hand made products. I scouted the locations, found the models, coordinated wardrobes and directed the photoshoots (2016-2022).
In the wake of George Floyd’s murder, Freeleaf sought to create a series of empathic images through a collection of portraits featuring men and women who lost their beautiful lives to police violence. I hand painted paper with watercolors then drew the portraits digitally.
